We know EMDR is a powerful treatment model for change. How can you apply this model in an ethical and thoughtful way to promote lasting change within a couple's dynamic? This presentation provides an AIP informed approach to treating couples with EMDR to desensitize relational triggers, repair attachment wounds, and build emotional safety for couples you are treating.
This training is not only theoretical, but also provides a Couples EMDR Screen Tool, client videos, and resourcing scripts to effectively utilize EMDR with couples. The trainers, Maureen Bethea and Christina Frank, are Licensed Marriage and Family therapists and experienced EMDR providers with many years of experience treating relational trauma and complex couples dynamics.
Through this training, you will:
- View the couple’s dynamic through the AIP framework and the 8 phases of EMDR.
- Assess a couple's appropriateness for the three different frameworks for incorporating EMDR into couple’s therapy, as well as the benefits and considerations of each.
- Evaluate four considerations, specific to EMDR with couples, to successfully integrate EMDR into couples work.
- Develop interventions to utilize in the preparation and reprocessing phases of EMDR.
You will also receive a Couples EMDR Screening Tool
