Course Summary
This 3-hour experiential workshop will help therapists deepen their somatic skills through direct practice.
This advanced somatic training is designed to take you beyond theory and into the felt experience of somatic therapy so that you can bring more presence, precision, and embodied wisdom into your clinical work.
Over the course of this 3-hour live workshop, you'll engage in guided practices that explore the core principles of somatic therapy from the inside out. You'll deepen your understanding of how the body holds, processes, and releases trauma, and how to track these processes moment-to-moment, first in yourself, so that you’re better able with your clients.
Through experiential exercises, gentle movement, embodied awareness, and reflective integration, you'll gain practical tools to:
- Recognize and work with somatic cues in yourself and your clients so that you feel competent in somatic assessment and intervention
- Cultivate your own nervous system regulation practice to support co-regulation in therapy
- Use embodied presence as an intervention in itself
- Access and support your clients’ innate capacity for healing through the body
This training is ideal for therapists with some foundational knowledge of somatic principles who are ready to deepen their clinical intuition and embodiment in session. Whether you use somatic work as a primary modality or as a supportive layer within talk therapy, this workshop will help you bring somatic therapy to life, not just as a tool, but as a way of being in your sessions.
