Course Summary
This two-part training provides clinicians with a comprehensive foundation for developing, implementing, and delivering trauma-focused intensive therapy services. Participants will explore both the operational and clinical components of intensive treatment models, beginning with an overview of the evidence base, practice logistics, and business considerations, and progressing to the clinical framework necessary for safe, ethical, and effective implementation.
Part 1 introduces the development and delivery of trauma-focused intensive therapy, examining the research supporting intensive treatment formats alongside practical considerations such as scheduling models, financial and practice-management issues, marketing strategies, documentation, and clinical boundaries. Participants will gain the knowledge needed to evaluate the feasibility of incorporating intensive therapy services into their practice.
Part 2 builds on this foundation by focusing on the clinical design and implementation of trauma-informed therapy intensives. Participants will explore client screening and readiness, treatment planning, preparation, therapeutic pacing, stabilization strategies, and post-intensive integration. Throughout the training, emphasis is placed on individualized, trauma-informed care, ethical decision-making, and promoting meaningful therapeutic outcomes within an intensive treatment format.
